This is a stupid and pointless turnoff for RuneScape Gold people who don't feel like adding a new account's email address/password, especially for people who already have an account set up.


Just look at the osrs facebook page right now - this is the only thing people are complaining about, and it's completely unnecessary. They could just as easily monitor the number of non-member accounts that connect, regardless of creation

date, to gauge interest.


I had a classic account from back when there were just 3 servers... I remember there was about a 4000 user cap and you'd have to sit there typing in your login info and retrying for quite awhile to get into a server. They didn't have queues originally. I think that was in 2001, I was 11 and running on dial-up.


That account became level 99 in all the original skills. Gave the account away for someone to play in the newer versions, not sure if it's still around though.
